We decided to voluntarily close the premises from Wednesday 9 September after a number of people, including three members of staff, unfortunately, tested positive for Covid-19.
Since then we have been working closely with both Solihull Council and Public Health England (PHE) West Midlands to manage the outbreak and prevent any further spread of the virus.
Additional testing of all members of staff has taken place and the premises has undergone a full deep clean.
Working with Solihull Council’s Public Health team we have contacted our customers who visited the restaurant between Friday 28 August and Sunday 6 September urging them to get tested.
Arrangements were made so that testing could be accessed quickly via the local community testing team rather than going through the national testing system.
We are continuing to work with the relevant authorities to ensure enhanced mitigation measures are put in place and carry out a revised and thorough Risk Assessment. Subject to this assessment we are planning to reopen this Sunday (20 September).
We would like to thank all of our valued customers and staff members for their patience and cooperation during this difficult time and we hope to welcome you all back very soon.
Solihull Council spokesperson:
“We have worked closely with the restaurant management to quickly implement appropriate infection control measures and ensure effective contact tracing can take place.
“We are encouraged by the proactive steps that have been taken to minimise the risk to customers and staff and pleased to see this action being taken voluntarily.
“Solihull Council will continue working with all of our local businesses to provide advice, support and practical assistance where local outbreaks occur. Full compliance with national guidance by all businesses is key to reducing our rates.”
